The festival takes place where the Sonoran sand meets the sea. We call it La Tierra Encantada ✨

How can I get to the festival?
There are several ways to get to the festival grounds.
🚗 Driving
If you’re coming from the USA, you’ll need to cross into Mexico at the nearest border crossing. From there, follow the main highways towards the festival site. We recommend planning your drive and arrival in the day to enjoy the entire experience. Once you’re on the local roads, use our official GPS pin for La Tierra Encantada: Google Maps Link.
Tips for a smooth border crossing:
Have your passport or other required documents ready.
Be aware of current customs regulations and any vehicle permits if driving a rental car.
Plan extra time for inspection lines, especially during weekends.
✈️ Flying
The closest major international airports to Puerto Peñasco are in Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) and Tucson International Airport (TUS) in Arizona, USA. Phoenix is approximately a 3.5-hour drive, while Tucson is roughly 4 hours away from Puerto Peñasco.
Attendees may also fly into Mar de Cortés International Airport, located approximately 13.9 miles (22.4 kilometers) east of Puerto Peñasco. We recommend taking advantage of private shuttle services, ride share apps, or taxis to make the journey from the airport to the festival grounds.

We offer direct shuttles from surrounding airports to the festival grounds. One-way tickets are available if you only need a ride in one direction. If you want to return by shuttle, you’ll need to purchase a separate ticket for the return trip.

What are roads like driving to the festival?
The festival grounds are accessible via a fully paved road.
Can I walk to the festival from town?
It depends on where you’re staying.
If you’re camping on-site, you’ll be a short distance to the festival grounds.
For accommodations farther away, walking is not recommended due to distance and desert terrain.
We recommend shuttles, rental cars, or driving if you’re staying off-site.
Can I drive a rental car from the U.S. to the festival?
Yes! Here are some rental companies that allow cross-border travel into Mexico. Cross-border rental policies can change, so please double-check with the rental agent before booking.
Avis: Allows cross-border rentals to Mexico from select U.S. locations. Advance notice and a border crossing fee are required. Avis FAQ
Budget: Permits driving into Mexico from certain U.S. locations, but one-way rentals to Mexico are generally not allowed. Budget FAQ
Hertz: Allows cross-border travel into Mexico with prior approval and additional insurance.

Important notes!
- Insurance requirements: When driving into Mexico, you must purchase additional Mexican auto insurance, as U.S. policies are not valid in Mexico.
Documentation: Carry a valid passport, driver’s license, and any necessary rental agreements and insurance documents.
Vehicle restrictions: Some vehicle types may be restricted from crossing the border; verify with the rental company.
Return policies: One-way rentals to Mexico are typically not allowed; vehicles must be returned to the U.S. unless arranged otherwise.
Will there be free parking – if I’m not car camping?
Yes! Free parking is available for attendees who aren’t car camping. Simply follow festival signage to the designated parking areas at La Tierra Encantada.
Parking is first-come, first-served.
If you’re arriving with friends, try to coordinate so you can park together.
How do I get a passport quickly?
Since Puerto Peñasco is in Mexico, you’ll need a valid passport to cross the border if you are traveling abroad. Here’s how to get one if you don’t already have it:
- Apply Online: Visit your country’s official passport website to begin your application.
- Expedited Services: Need your passport quickly? Check for expedited options to receive it in as little as 1-2 weeks.
- Renewal: If your passport is expiring soon, make sure it’s valid for at least six months beyond the festival dates.
Keep your passport and travel documents in a safe, easily accessible place during your trip.
What genre of music should we expect?
BTW festival’s roots is in house and techno, but we will be bringing in artist from a range of genres and growing the musical variety as our community asks.

Is there cellular service at the festival?
Yes! There’s cellular signal and reception all throughout the land in Puerto Peñasco – and that includes the festival grounds.
We still recommend checking your mobile service provider’s coverage maps before traveling to ensure you have service during the festival.
But like any festival, there could be drops in signal with lots of people around.
What about wifi?
No Wi-Fi will be available on festival grounds.
Take this as a perfect opportunity to unplug, enjoy the music, and capture memories to share later!

What security measures are in place at the festival?
Your safety is our top priority. The festival grounds are monitored by professional security personnel and volunteers throughout the event.
